My fellow Yelpers- you’ve done it again! Thank you, thank you!!!
So my refrigerator started making some unusual noises, ice started forming in the freezer and that got my attention. Hubby, being the mechanical man that he is, decided to “fix” the problem by scraping off all the ice and reducing the temperature in hopes of resolving the issue. Well, he did get the noise to stop, and he also removed the ice (with my flat, wooden spatula which broke), but a few days passed and the noise & ice were back with a vengeance.
The coldness of the refrigerator and freezer was just not right, even when we turned the thermostat all the way up to the coldest levels (eventually my 27 pound turkey and other frozen products had to be tossed out, as well as anything that was questionable in the refrigerator).
Fast forward to the beginning of this week- the buzzing & humming noises inside the refrigerator were disturbing and non-stop. Off to Yelp I went in order to find a decent, reasonable, non-vulture-like repairman!
Pacific Coast Appliance Repair had so many positive reviews, (primarily from those ladies in distress), I decided to give Leo a call. So glad am I that he answered and was able to come out the next day. Prior to his visit, Leo asked me questions about the problem in order to be prepared for whatever the issue was.
Leo arrived. He was friendly and knowledgeable as he diagnosed the problem with our 8 year old refrigerator. He quoted some prices, but because the ice build-up was something that could have taken out the Titanic, he had to return the next day after letting the ice melt completely.
Upon his return, Leo sent me a text asking if the ice had melted. I confirmed it did and he showed up at noon, his scheduled appointment time. In less than 2 hours, Leo had changed the starter that burnt out and the computer board that went bad. Thankfully the coils were not damaged or else, as Leo explained it, our refrigerator would have been next in line at the junk-recyclers.
Oh, and remember that scraping that hubby did with the wooden spatula, well, he failed to put the cover back on and was not able to find the screws- thankfully Leo had extra screws and put the cover on and let us know that it must not ever come off…all without charging us extra! To top things off, I got an additional $20.00 off just because I mentioned Yelp and assured Leo I would also provide a favorable review for his services.
So here we are, more than 24 hours since Leo came out to repair our ice box, and I can say that it looks and feels like a new appliance with that crisp, cold, non-ice build up.
Thanks to Leo for his expertise and reasonable price.
Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for your right-on reviews!!!
