A customer contacted Pacific Coast Appliance Repair regarding a Miele built-in refrigerator that was no longer cooling properly. Upon inspection, our technician found excessive frost buildup around the evaporator section, restricting airflow and preventing the refrigerator from maintaining the correct temperature.
After a complete diagnostic evaluation, we safely defrosted the evaporator coil and identified a failed evaporator fan motor and drip pan heater. The evaporator fan is responsible for circulating cold air throughout the refrigerator, while the drip pan heater helps manage moisture during the automatic defrost cycle. When either component fails, cooling performance can be significantly affected.
Our technician replaced both defective components, tested the refrigerator’s cooling system, and verified proper airflow and temperature operation. After the repair, the unit returned to normal cooling performance.
